Kipos inspires, equips, and empowers more people to start new churches that thrive and multiply.
As founding designer, I...
Opportunity
Many new-church leaders lack structured support, often feeling alone in the process. At the same time, networks that could support them often operate with fragmented workflows and informal evaluations, relying on intuition over objective readiness. As the church-planting landscape grows more diverse, success in one context doesn’t guarantee success in another. Kipos aimed to bridge this gap by supporting individuals on their journey while enabling networks to surface potential and scale mentorship.
My Role
As the founding designer, I designed Kipos to extend and enhance existing church-starting processes with digital tools for learning, connection, and tracking progress.
Research & Concept Development:
Facilitated interviews and workshops with stakeholders across the ecosystem to map out church-starting journeys, system touchpoints, interactions, and artifacts across Stadia's five phase process to start a new church.
UX/UI Design:
Designed flows for discernment, training, cohort formation, admin reporting, and content delivery. Mocked up screens for different user roles in mobile app (new-church leader, spouse, coach) and web app (admins, partner networks). Prioritized features by balancing value with engineering constraints.
Design Systems:
Built a design library to ensure visual consistency and support future product expansion.

key insights
Relationships are the most valuable resource
Kipos supports relationship-building through connection suggestions, cohort-based experiences, and conversation prompts to cultivate personalized, meaningful support.
Competency is more scalable than personality
Kipos shifts the emphasis from static traits to dynamic growth. Just-in-time learning moments are embedded throughout activities in the app, from onboarding to training assignments, making the platform more educational and empowering than solely evaluative.
One model doesn’t fit all contexts
Church starters need exposure to diverse strategies and stories. Kipos provides access to peer discussions, contextualized cohorts, and an admin dashboard that captures trends and success signals for a more data-informed church-planting ecosystem.
Mapped current and ideal journeys, redesigned in-person workflows for digital with progress tracking, role-specific flows, and platform priorities for mobile (new-church leaders, coaches) and web (admins, partners).
